Recent Activities
The shedders blog is designed to give an idea of the past, present & future events being organised at LLL Mens Shed. The meetings take place on a Monday starting at 11am and generally run until about 3pm or 4pm.
Meeting 01 - Date: 08th November 2021
Met at Llangadog Community hall. Luke asked us to introduce ourselves via the “Talking Stick”. Mike did a short presentation on why the LLL Mens Shed was conceived, the reasons behind it and what it's all about. Drank loads of coffee and tea, put the world to rights, and basically got to know each other.
Meeting 02 - Date: 15th November 2021
Met at LLL Mens Shed. Mike showed everyone around LLL Mens Shed including the dirty shed, the clean shed, both greenhouses, 5 large raised beds and the paddock. Had coffee and discussed what future events might be with plenty of tea and coffee for lubrication.
Meeting 03 - Date: 22nd November 2021
Met at Llangadog Community Hall. Richard cooked a delicious thick soup. Luke instructed everyone on how to make their own soda bread which we ate along with the soup. Ben made a very tasty apple crumble & custard for dessert with plenty of tea & coffee to wash it down. We welcomed a new member Lobby.
Meeting 04 - Date: 29th November 2021
Met at LLL Mens Shed. Lobby, Nick, Ben & Mike completed a project fixing wheels onto a woodworking bench so it can be moved easily. Richard cooked jacket potatoes with cheese topping and a tasty salsa sauce followed by Battenburg cake. Discussed what future events might be.
Meeting 05 - Date: 06th December 2021
Met at LLL Mens Shed. We welcomed a new member, Peter Jennings from Llandovery. Everyone except Peter and Mike left to visit Lobby’s coppice/woodland between the LLL Mens Shed and the Black Mountain. Had a tour looking at different designated areas then returned to LLL mens sheds for pizza followed by chocolate biscuits.
Meeting 06 - Date: 13th December
Meet at LLL Mens Shed. Marksmanship .22 calibre target shooting competition. Shooting competition using telescopic sights followed by barbecued burgers and welsh cakes for dessert. Richard is sourcing buns, Graham the burgers and Nick the onions. Should be a good day. In case of bad weather plan B is a pool competition. If you would like to attend this event then please let us know in plenty of time as we need to plan provisions & food for everyone in advance.
